Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest

What was originally a horse race to celebrate the wedding of King Ludwig I to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen is now known as Oktoberfest, a world-famous celebration where friends and families enjoy good food, drinks and music in beer tents. The GLSW celebrates this Bavarian festival in a family-friendly way with a school festival, where the New York Café Katja (supported by the GLSW board) serves traditional German food and music. The families eat bratwurst and Spätzle, listen to polka music and meet with other GLSW students and their families.
